Easy Pear Pie

A simply delicious tasting pear pie


Ingredients:
1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell


Pie Filling:
5 to 6 c peeled, sliced pears
juice from 1 lemon
1/2 c sugar or (sucanat op)
2 -1/2 T flour (whole wheat pastry flour op)
1/4 tsp nutmeg


Pie Topping:
9 T softened butter
1/2 c dark brown sugar
1/2 c flour (whole wheat pastry flour op)


Directions:
Preheat oven 425 degrees.

In bowl:
Pour peeled, sliced pears and squeeze lemon juice over pears. Let sit.

In small bowl:
Stir sugar, flour and nutmeg. Sprinkle mixture over pears and coat well. Place in unbaked pie shell.

Pie Topping :

In bowl:
Cream butter, sugar, and flour. Spread mixture over pear mixture in pie shell. Place pie pan with mixture in a large brown baking bag; fold edge and securely fasten (staple to remove air). Place on cookie sheet and bake 60 minutes in preheated oven.
