Pear Butter
A homemade tasty pear butter
Ingredients: 3 lbs pears sugar or (sucanat optional) cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg to taste
Directions: Take fresh pears and wash well. Slice unpeeled pears and place in heavy kettle with water covering the bottom.
Cook pears until very soft. Force pears through a sieve to remove skins and seeds if any. Place pears in pan with half amount of sugar or sucanat as pulp. Add cinnamon, allspice and pinch of cloves to taste.
Cook mixture stirring frequently, until smooth and thick. Immediately pour mixture into hot sterilized jars and seal at once.
